About

Martin-Howlett-Furniture-Portrait

I started woodwork at a very young age learning wood turning at the age of 10, this cemented my interest in woodwork, I went on to train at Rycotewood College in Oxfordshire and continued my education to degree level at Edinburgh College of Art. I worked for many years at various makers in the South of England honing my skills.

I set up my workshop in 2010 and specialise in designing, making and installing furniture. Working in and around Sussex, I work closely with my clients to create beautiful bespoke furniture and deliver excellent customer service. All my work is designed, built and fitted by myself and my small team. Electrical and plumbing works are carried out by trusted and fully accredited local trades with whom I have long working relationships.
